Young Adult Pre-Professional Training Program
FREE TRAINING & FINAL PERFORMANCE PAY
Since 1984, The Positive Youth Troupe (PYT) has helped young people use their voices as powerful tools for change and to build relationships within their communities. Our training program is an excellent opportunity for teens and young adults to get a broader understanding of all the parts that make a whole in theater performance, production, and management. Throughout the program you will participate in various master classes taught by professionals in the industry and in all artistic disciplines. The program is designed to teach students on all levels from beginners to advanced, so all are welcomed. All will get an opportunity to showcase skills, talents, and techniques they have studied in preparation for a final production. This is a theater based program that will cover traditional drama as well as new works, poetry and prose. Together we will see live performances, and participate in performance showcases throughout the program. Those students who are dedicated and interested in working in the industry will have an opportunity to audition for additional performances when available.
Meets on Wednesday and Thursdays from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Open to ages 14-21.

Special One-Time Offering: Summer 2022 Theater Workshop
This six week program conducted two days per week will introduce a number of acting techniques, spoken word, voice and diction, character study and movement. Create your own performance piece with your cohort. Participants receive performance pay. Open to ages 14-21. Program meets from July 5 - August 12 on Tuesdays and Fridays. Ages 12-15 - 4:00 - 5:30 PM & Ages 16-21 - 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Scroll down to apply today!
